Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
brokeinprod is a publication of FLMOR Media, LLC("we," "us," or "our"), a Texas limited liability company. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit brokeinprod.dev. We've tried to write it in plain language, not legalese.
The short version
We don't load analytics, and we don't set any analytics or tracking cookies, unless you explicitly opt in through the cookie banner. If you decline — or simply ignore the banner — you can read everything on the site and nothing tracks you. The only time we collect personal information is when you choose to give it to us: by subscribing to the newsletter or contacting us. We never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you give us your email address. If you contact us, we receive whatever information you include in your message. We don't require an account to read the site, and we don't ask for personal information to access content.
Information collected automatically — only with your consent. If, and only if, you accept analytics cookies, our analytics provider collects standard usage information such as the pages you view, how long you spend on them, the site that referred you, your approximate (city-level) location, and your device and browser type. If you decline or haven't chosen, none of this is collected.
Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records basic technical request logs (such as IP address, user agent, and timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. This happens at the infrastructure level regardless of cookie choices and is standard for operating a website.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the site, understand how readers use our content (when you've consented to analytics), send the newsletter to people who asked for it, respond to your inquiries, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Cookies and tracking
Analytics are opt-in. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic and engagement, but it is not loaded until you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. Before you make a choice, and if you decline, Google Analytics never runs and sets no cookies. Once you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. Our configuration does not store your full IP address. Your consent choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage on the device you're using, so you may see the banner again on another device or browser.
Newsletter. Our newsletter is handled by Beehiiv. If you subscribe, your email address is stored and processed by Beehiiv on our behalf, and Beehiiv may record whether you open or click links within the emails it sends, so we can gauge engagement. If you never subscribe, this doesn't apply to you — reading the site does not involve Beehiiv.
Affiliate links. We do not currently run affiliate links. If we add them in the future, clicking such a link may allow the destination retailer to set its own cookie to attribute a purchase to us. Any such cookies would be set by the retailer, not by us, and we will keep our Affiliate Disclosure current and clearly label affiliate links wherever they appear.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your experience but will not prevent you from reading our content.
Third-party services
We rely on the following third-party services, which may process information about you as described above:
- Google Analytics — traffic and engagement analytics, loaded only after you opt in. See Google's privacy policy.
- Beehiiv — our newsletter provider, used only if you subscribe. See Beehiiv's privacy policy.
- Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel processes server logs including IP addresses for security and performance purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Affiliate networks and retailers (future). If we add affiliate links, clicking them may allow the destination site to collect information per its own privacy policy. We'll disclose this here and in our Affiliate Disclosure when it applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@brokeinprod.dev.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). EU and UK residents have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and because we load analytics only with your prior consent, we don't place analytics cookies without a lawful basis. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on our homepage when they occur.
